New Indie!

I’ve just been given a link to trailer for the new Indiana Jones movie, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It looks brilliant from what we see, when the music kicked in it just made me feel really ‘excited’ about it. I can’t wait for it now! I think it’s time to go and rewatch the trilogy!

Here’s the trailer if anybody hasn’t seen it yet:

Jimmy Carr, Belfast – 01 Feb 2008

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

On Friday night I went to see Jimmy Carr in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast. I’m sure most of you know who he is, but for those who don’t he is a comedian from London. He presents a couple of different shows on Channel 4, his main one at the minute being ‘8 out of 10 cats’.

I have wanted to see him whenever he was in Belfast before but always found out too late and could never get a ticket, this time I made sure I got one! I had front row seats which seemed like a good idea when booking, but when you actually get there and sit down and realise how close you are I was beginning to regret booking it! Thankfully he never said anything to me (just a couple of other people in the row) but I was just waiting the whole way through on him saying something to me because he kept looking me as if he was about to say something. Although it may have been embarassing, I think it probably would’ve made the show even better for me if he had’ve said something, it would’ve been funny and something to remember!

The show itself was very funny. Although a lot of people don’t like the way his shows are made up of one-liners, I thought it worked quite well. There were parts where I was hoping he would keep a joke going but then moved onto another, but it was still very funny.

In the interval I had a quick look through the program (very reasonably priced at £5 too! It’s rare you get programs that cheap now) and I noticed a bit about him signing things after the shows and saying he does it because he enjoys it and basically wants to give something back to the fans. I was hoping he was going to do it after this show and at the end he said he was! I was glad I’d bought that program after all, it meant I had something for him to sign, I didn’t think about bringing a DVD or anything because I wasn’t expecting him to be signing things afterwards. It’s always good to see somebody who respects their fans and knows they wouldn’t be where they are without them, it’s rare you see that these days!

It was a really good night out, made all the better with getting to meet Jimmy himself. It was well worth the ticket price (also very reasonably priced, I only paid something like £16 if I remember correctly), and I would definately go and see him again. I would recommend him if he’s playing in your area!

Here’s a picture of when I met him afterwards (he looks quite scary for some reason!):
